Community Service Project for Q4 2023 Nurtures Seniors in Need
As the fourth quarter of 2023 unfolds, JMC's Lab Practice Area took the lead in organizing a community service project that aimed to make a positive impact in the local community. This quarter's philanthropy event will focused on supporting Meals on Wheels, an organization dedicated to providing essential meals to seniors, ensuring they lead healthy and connected lives.
Meals on Wheels operates with a mission "To empower local community programs to improve the health and quality of life of the seniors they serve so that no one is left hungry or isolated." JMC chose  to support this cause, emphasizing the importance of addressing the needs of senior citizens in the community.
Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is not only quick and easy but also offers various opportunities beyond meal delivery. Volunteers can assist in the office, engage in physical labor, and contribute to the organization in many other ways. JMC Coordinator, Tim Hawley, highlighted the increased demand for assistance in December, making it a crucial time to support seniors during the holiday season and said, "Spreading joy one meal at a time was a heartfelt experience with my son George."
JMC encouraged its employees to volunteer individually or, where possible, as a team. Cities with multiple JMCers organized group activities, such as delivering meals together or volunteering on the food line as a team.
In addition to the hands-on involvement with Meals on Wheels, JMC's Atlanta Team chose an alternative way to contribute. Instead of direct volunteering, the team made monetary donations to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This optional initiative allowed employees to support the cause through financial contributions. Every dollar donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank provides three meals to local Atlantans, making a tangible impact on food security in the region.
JMC's commitment to community service reflects its dedication to corporate social responsibility, providing a sense of community and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
